A disease in which abnormal cells divide uncontrollably and do not die. These abnormal cells destroy body tissue and may make tumors. Most types of cancer have 4 stages. Some cancers also have a stage 0. Cancer stages are determined by considering the size and location of tumors, lymph nodes involved, and if the cancer has spread to other parts of the body.
